The transformation of Royal Plaza, completed in May 2014, features a five-story façade upgrade to the main Scotts Road elevation, a new porte cochère, a new lift providing L2 access from street level, and upgraded entrance lobby and driveway. These changes created a stunning contrast to its previous appearance.

TCG delivered this technically demanding project while maintaining Royal Plaza Hotel's daily operations. Though highly visible in its final form, significant work occurred behind the scenes. The substructure work included micro-piling to support the new façade and lift pit/shaft, all constructed near the MRT reserve.

The interior featured high-end finishes throughout the lobby, entrance, and porte cochère areas, including architecturally glazed lift shafts, marble floors and columns, and decorative plaster ceilings. The Level 2 porte cochère was enhanced with a new timber deck for outdoor dining.
