Following the grant of a silver “Best Refurbishment and Maintenance Contractor in Occupational Safety and Health” award in June, ISG in Hong Kong is honoured to have received the second health and safety accolade – Safety Performance Award in the “construction industries” category, at the 18th Hong Kong Occupational Safety & Health Award held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai.
Presenting by the Occupational Safety and Health Council and Labour Department, the Safety Performance Award recognises organisations that can demonstrate an outstanding performance in occupational health and safety, within a particular sector with good safety records over the past three years.
ISG in Hong Kong’s low accident rate, zero suspension and improvement notice that it has received in the past three years, high level of compliance with The Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Management) Regulations, effective safety management system, and keen safety support from the top management saw the business successfully win the award in the “construction industries” category.
Operations director, Mark Osborne commented on the award: “We are greatly encouraged by receiving a second occupational health and safety award in 2019. We constantly reinforce our principal that safety is everyone’s responsibility, and I am delighted to see that the focus and efforts made by our teams in implementing “Choose Safe, Choose Health” have been recognised by the government of HKSAR and more importantly that our high standards of health and safety have been maintained throughout the business.”
